Reunited after a lifetime

Thanks to help from a local Facebook group, Julie Lund and her Dad reunited after 58 lost years.

Julie Lund, 59, lives in Lincolnshire. She was too young to remember when she last saw her Dad. She asked for help to find him from a local online group.

Four days later she found him. Brian Rothery had lived for many years just an hour away in Yorkshire. They met up again after nearly a life time apart.

In the BBC video, Brian said: “It was like a miracle and I don’t believe in miracles”. “We got one,” Julie said. But she added: “It makes me a little sad for all the time that we’ve lost.”

It seems that the obvious can be forgotten: Families are for children and for life.
